When Colby earned a swimming scholarship to the Falconer Institute of Training, he expected to spend all his time either training or studying, but that was before he looked out of his living room window and straight into the dance studio opposite.
It's taken Noah years, but he's finally got his life in order. He teaches dance classes all day, hits the clubs every night, and he's not looking for complications - especially not in the form of overly-innocent swimmers who like to spy on him from across the street.
The first time Colby approaches him, Noah has no trouble turning him away. It's only when Colby returns years later, to collect on a casually delivered promise, that Noah finds himself incapable of keeping Colby locked out of his carefully re-constructed life.
Their kinks may match up perfectly, but their lives and their pasts couldn't be more different. Years have passed, but will what they have together turn out to be worth waiting for?
Worth Waiting For (Audible Audio Edition) Kim Dare Joe Arden Audible Studios Books
I have read almost all of Kim Dare's books, whether they are short stories, novellas or novels and have enjoyed all of them, but this may be her best one so far. It is a short novel, but it is so good, that I will be rereading it whenever I get a little depressed even though I have about 100 books in my Kindle waiting to be read. All of Ms. Dare's books, include romance and kink as does this but both of her main characters, Noah and Colby are particularly lovable and memorable. Colby, although the submissive, is really the stronger personality. Toward the end of the book Noah says that it seems he has fallen in love with the sweetest person on the planet and that really does describe Colby. Noah at first seems to be a not so lovely a person until you understand his back story and watch him overcome his harsh state of mind as Colby gets under his skin and changes him into a decent and loving person. I particularly like Ms. Dare's BDSM scenes, which correctly show that the dom really does what his sub needs and enjoys, even if it includes some pain but does not make it about sadism and masochism. And those scenes, almost always, and most certainly in this book are sexually oriented and are as hot as can be found in this genre. Altogether, this book is a joy to read if you are into M/M erotic romance with a kink as I am. Don't miss it.Product details

Worth Waiting For (Audible Audio Edition) Kim Dare Joe Arden Audible Studios Books Reviews
I loved this book! I thought it was a great addition to my collection of books by Kim Dare. I always snatch up all her full-length novels, and this book reminded me why. It was interesting to see a completely different take on a submissive, with Colby being submissive in the bedroom but protective, forgiving, and understanding outside of it. Hope to see more full-length books by this author!
I love Kim Dare's books. This sentence is usually followed by a "but" except in this case...there's no but. It was a great book. I tend not to read books where couples were together long ago and then reconnect later because I find that story line too depressing, so I didn't initially buy this story. The blurb led me to believe that was how the book played out so I waited. Eventually, I always buy Kim Dare's books (I'd love to call her 'Kim' but that feels too familiar). That's not the situation. I loved the set up. The story was sweet and sexy. I actually teared up (without fully crying) at points. I really enjoyed it and I'm sure this will be one of several Kim Dare books that I read several times.
I think Kim Dare's first name should start with a C for "Crack" as I think that's my level of addiction to her books. Usually not too complicated in plot or character they are just fun to read. I really enjoyed how dedicated Colby was and I did not feel it actually that strange that he was so obsessed with Noah. I felt it matched his personality - a guy who knows what he wants and goes for it. Any sort of professional athlete (which is basically what he was) would demonstrate this type of perseverance. I also enjoyed how things felt more organic in development and that the guys had mostly natural reactions. I do think Colby was far more understanding than most guys would be - but it certainly wasn't enough to knock off many stars. This one felt like a more coherent and expansive story than others and I felt like I knew the characters better - I recommend it!
I really liked this book! I've read lots of Kim Dare's books, but the last few have been very short and a bit fluffy. This one had some great characters, with real depth, and a great story.
Colby is young, very young when they first meet (15 I think), he sees Noah across the street and falls in lust. Follows him to a club, Noah turns him down and tells him to come find him when he's 18. Then follows three years of slightly creepy teenage stalking....
The day Colby turns 18, he's out stalking Noah in person. Finds him, they sort of start to date, more like f*** buddies, and we are all happy.
Then follows, six months of hot, slightly kinky sex, a bit of drama, we learn more about Noah and his serious trust issues, and a HEA. Totally believable and enjoyable!
Great characters, I loved Colby for his innocence, and Noah was stubbornly annoying. Or annoyingly stubborn! The sex was hot, and just kinky enough, with a younger character, enough to be hot but not icky.
I always like Kim's books, but this one was one of the best I've read of her's in a while! Yeah!
Reading this book is a sublimely satisfying experience. I thought the story flowed well and my mind was in a peaceful place reading about Noah and Colby. Oddly, or perhaps by design, I didn't like Noah as a standalone character and could take him or leave him. Colby, however, I LOVE. There is so much heart, love, strength and romance in his body!! And all he wants to do is give himself completely to Noah. I whole-heartedly think that Colby can do so so so much better, but you love him so much that you want him to get his heart's desire and, for him, that equals Noah. Hence, as much as I didn't like Noah, I found myself wanting and hoping for him to become the person Colby deserves. The writing is excellent, the story is cohesive and well-executed, the characters are developed and the sex is HOT HOT HOT. A nice read with a perfect ending that leaves you in happy place. Recommend whole-heartedly.
I did like this, for the most part. Colby was kind of a weird stalker but really sweet and really focused. Somehow, just from watching Noah dance and repeatedly screw random men, he decided he was the one. So that was highly improbable. He did seem to live in a magically blessed world where he only experienced acceptance from friends and family. There was no other background to indicate any life experience for him. He seemed to intrinsically understand the way Noah felt about himself. It's fiction, so I can accept it, I just wish there was some insight into how Colby was supposed to have formed his personality. There was only a little more background for Noah. My other issue was the sex scenes. It's kind of hard to accept that Colby would enjoy bondage when losing his virginity. I've also noticed with this author, that sex scenes always seem to feel rather detached. There's descriptions of the actions but I never feel the heat. I'd have liked to enjoy it more.
I have read almost all of Kim Dare's books, whether they are short stories, novellas or novels and have enjoyed all of them, but this may be her best one so far.
